Ultra Heavy Duty Highway Rated Concrete Base Farm Grid

Our new farm grids are built to meet State Road Department requirements for highway use and are rated to 18t/axle.

The grids feature 2 x concrete bases with a hot dip galvanised steel top made of I beam and 100x50x6mm RHS with flat bar gussets. The grids are mounted on anti vibration rubber and held down with cast in threaded rod welded plated and welded to the steel reinforcing.

The concrete plinths are 2.1t each and the steel top is 1t. The top section can be simply unbolted and removed to allow for easy cleaning underneath. All the advantages of our 18t/axle concrete grids without the weight. Install with a smaller machine (heaviest piece is 900kg) and save money on freight.

These grids still come with an 18t/axle rating and are fully hot dip galvanised. Top rails are 100x50x6mm RHS with 250UB Ibeams for Joists.

The bases are Fabricated with a combination of 250x150x8mm RHS, 360x100x9mm C channel and 10mm plate. Once complete they are hot dip galvanised. If wings are purchased these are galvanised material with the welds painted in cold gal paint.

Our Council Spec Grids are designed for high-traffic farm entryways and local public roads, safely supporting axle loads of up to 18 tonnes at speeds of up to 40kph. They are a practical option where strength, compliance, and a removable grid top are required for access or maintenance.

Each grid is supported by heavy-duty 40MPa concrete plinths and finished with hot dip galvanised steel tops for long-term durability. Grids are available in 3m, 4m, 5m, and 6m widths, with optional wings to suit site requirements.

The grid tops are manufactured from 80x60x4mm RHS, oriented vertically for increased strength and mounted on 150UB beams to handle repeated 18-tonne axle loads. This construction ensures reliable performance in demanding, high-traffic conditions.

Installation is simple, with M20 rods cast directly into the concrete bases. The bases are positioned, the grid is dropped into place, and the fixings are secured. Pricing includes the grid and concrete bases, with wings available as an optional addition.
